Candy Hair

Oh! To be free!

Gala Darling has candy coloured hair and a restless soul. She travels the world and does that thing we all might want for a day or two, living the life of a self-styled 'international nomad & playgirl'.

Definately want the hair! And wouldn't mind the travel...

Check out Gala Darling's tips on how to live magically (and colourfully) at http://www.galadarling.com/ .

Wall Candy

I like blank walls. I like the idea of an empty canvas; a vast space to be filled by the paintbrush of my imagination.

The problem is that when it comes to actually doing something about filling that empty space, I don't really want to commit to the permanence of one particular colour or one specific design.

So when I saw these Wall Candy stickers I thought they would be just the thing! Reusable wall stickers and wall art that can be peeled, placed and replaced at whim, my creativity would be happily un-stifled and I could be as fickle as I chose about changing up the design whenever the mood struck.

How very ap-peeling!

Rainbow legs

The simplest of things makes me go -ahhhhh.

How great would it be to wear these 'Japanese-style' legwarmers and be considered stylish. Why they've been tagged 'Japanese-style' I have no idea, but I 'm feeling the 80's retro and thinking a pair of skinny jeans and rainbow legwear might be just enough funky to make my day.

Rainbow legwarmers, oh yeah.

Sugar Daddy's Totes

These Personalized Petite Totes from Sugar Daddy's are being marketed at Neiman Marcus as 'great gifts under $100' for teens.

Now I wonder, is it the exceedingly low price that identifies the bags as great gifts for teens or is it because of the candy and pretty colours?

Boy oh boy oh boy. I know a few 20 and 30-somethings who would love these bags filled with Sugar Daddy's Sweetie Treats and I too would pleased as punch to get one as a gift.

Why do I feel like wanting one of these bags is such a wrong choice?

Gummi Lights

Soft, rubbery lights with no cord attached. What more could you want in a candy-inspired lighting fixture?

These Gummi Bear lights from http://www.jellio.com/ don't proclaim to be anything but fun and I'll bet there are a lot of adults out there just waiting for a chance to buy this for their kid so they can have one!

Whereas I can't imagine using a Gummi light as part of my home dec & design I can see that one colourful gummi friend sitting in my office might give a hit of pleasure (and a provide a friendly face) in the sometimes bleary, bleakness of 'things to do'.

"Good morning, Gummi. You light up my life."

Candy Stool

It doesn't sound glamourous (maybe even a little bathroom-esque) but the Candy Stool is a beautiful thing.

Designed by Calligaris, one of Italy's largest furniture manufacturers, this piece satisfies the needs of both form and function with simple design, storage capacity and great colours. A few Candy Stools sprinkled around my house would be more than welcome!
